Perched on a leafy hillside overlooking Lake Lugano, Pritzker-prize winning architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron have designed eight multi-level villas immersed in a 6,000-sqm park with palms, magnolias, cedars and stone pines. The architecture of the villas consists in a continuous play of arches and vaults, light and shadow to enhance the refined elegance of the location.
“The world is changing dramatically and architecture, and especially cities, need to move with these changes. What can we do to help as architects? Architecture as a way of thinking is more relevant than ever.” - Jacques Herzog - Herzog & de Meuron
